If sitting is the new smoking, we’re all headed for an early demise.
Good thing two San Francisco inventors are looking out for us. Artist Robb Godshaw and developer Will Doenlen built this giant Hamster Wheel Standing Desk crafted from plywood and two-by-fours in a mere 24 hours. The wheel is a whopping 80” in diameter, with a 24”-wide base that rests on a set of four skateboard wheels. The design allows fluid rotation without requiring an axle for the wheel. Godshaw and Doenlen created the prototype with a waterjet and Autodesk inventor software.
But where are the brakes, you ask? There are none. The omission was a conscious decision by Godshaw and Doenlen to really force productivity from a sloth-like workforce.
