Steakhouse Fires Up the Grills on Beefy Casters

With Hamilton working the line, Fogo de Chao serves up authentic, fire-roasted Brazilian meat to more than 200,000 carnivores – and the occasional vegetarian – every year.

The steakhouse in Philadelphia hauls its famous rotisseries, called churrascos, with our casters. Each grill weighs 1,160 pounds and burns at 900 degrees to create that classic Latin American barbeque flavor.

“Because of the extreme temperatures and the sheer amount of steak, chicken, lamb and sausage we cook daily, we have to move and clean them every night,” said Ryan Metcalf, Fogo de Chao’s general manager. “Hamilton helps us do that without tearing up the restaurant – and our chefs.”

Prior to switching to our dual-wheel, Workhorse swivel casters, Metcalf said each churrasco required three people and plenty of muscle to budge. Even worse, the standard wheels would get stuck and damage the floors.

“We were replacing casters and tiles left and right,” said Metcalf. “Since switching to Hamilton a year ago, we haven’t had to swap out any casters, or repair broken flooring. And now, a single chef can push each grill with just one hand.”

Because of Hamilton’s success at Fogo de Chao’s Philadelphia location, the chain is considering deploying our casters nationwide.
