Take this Rorschach test of Hamilton employees

Monday, Nov 18, 2019

Some might argue that a messy desk is a sign of genius. We don’t know about that, but we do find some interesting objects on the desks of Hamilton employees. Here’s a window into the psyche of some of our people.

  • Desk of: Quality Manager Ralph Jackson
  • Object: Crescent Wrench Creature made by a local artist
  • What it means: Ralph likes to fix things, so even decorative objects need to do double duty in his world

  • Desk of: Truck Design Engineer John Yater
  • Object: TI30XS calculator. There’s nothing odd about this on its own, except when you consider that these are the calculators parents are supposed to get for their kids’ math classes but are notoriously impossible to find
  • What it means: John, a parent himself, enjoys torturing other parents in the office every chance he gets

  • Desk of: Truck Design Engineer Jevon Lambright
  • Object: Large Mountain Dew jug to minimize trips to the kitchen for water
  • What it means: Duh, engineers maximize efficiency in everything they do

  • Desk of: Caster & Wheel Design Engineer Julie Johnson
  • Object: 1921 Hamilton Run-Rite Caster, passed down to Julie from another engineer
  • What it means: Julie wants you to know she is cooler than you

  • Desk of: Heather Walker, Sales/Order Processing
  • Object: LEGO® Heart made by Heather’s son, Luke, who NEVER parts with his LEGOs
  • What it means: Luke will grow up to be a heart surgeon one day
