Take a dip in the world’s deepest diving pool

Sunday, Jul 25, 2021

Miffed that summer’s almost over and you haven’t gone swimming once? Make up for lost time by jetting over to Dubai to plunge into the world’s deepest diving pool (the Guinness Book of World Records says so). As makers of the world’s most mammoth casters, we “dig” the pool’s impressive 60 meters of diving nirvana and 14 million liters of water (that’s the rough equivalent of 6 Olympic-sized swimming pools).

Perhaps the coolest thing about this underwater wonder is that it’s designed as an abandoned apocalyptic city. Divers can explore its submerged treasures, complete with abandoned apartments and garage, while playing underwater pool and arcade games. State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems have been fitted inside the pool to create different atmospheres, while the water is filtered using NASA-developed technology. The pool also doubles as an underwater film studio -- the largest of its kind in the region. Not a certified deep diver? You can watch all the fun through glass panels from the 80-seat restaurant next door.

Best of all: no sharks.
