Grab your goggles and check out this zany three-wheeler

If you know cars, you know Morgan Motor Car Company is as British a car company as they come. If you know Hamilton, you know we love anything on wheels. Last month, we chatted up the concept car of the future from Audi. This month, we’re all about this old-school oddball from Morgan.

The company just announced its plan for this next-generation three-wheeler, which will replace Morgan’s previous version that had to be stopped earlier this year because it failed to meet European emissions standards. While the old version used a repurposed motorcycle V-Twin engine, this new one will use a Ford-sourced inline-3 engine. The change will most certainly give it a big boost in performance.

Though under heavy camouflage in the prototype photos Morgan released this month, it’s obvious the exposed engine is no longer a prominent feature on the front of the vehicle. The company confirmed the yet unnamed three wheeler will come with an all-new design “inspired by the early jet age” and significant engineering advancements.

Morgan started building three-wheeled cars in 1909 to take advantage of UK rules that levied lower taxes on vehicles with fewer than four wheels. Called “no frills, all thrills” motoring, driving the Morgan fan-favorite has been famously hailed as being the closest experience to flying without leaving the ground.

Makes us wonder what we can do with three-wheeled Hamilton carts...
