Thursday, Oct 26, 2023

Give us Halloween candy over fine dining any day of the week, twice on Sundays and three times after our morning coffee. There’s just something about the siren song of this annual sugar rush that has the unique power to conjure major nostalgia. Who among us doesn’t remember pouring out their hard-earned stash after a night of trick or treating to relish the spoils—and start trading the dregs—with family and friends? And while Halloween isn’t exclusively American (and, indeed has international roots, we think it’s safe to say nobody celebrates October 31 with the excitement, scale or commercialization like we do in the States. And which confection deserves more shade—Bit-O-Honeys or Smarties? But we digress. Instead of going down a highly controversial path, we left it up to the experts at CandyStore.com, who have been analyzing their sales data for the past 15 years to determine the most popular Halloween candy by state.

The real question is, do you agree? Have another Kit Kat and think about it.
