Hatch of the titans: This giant Cadbury egg is no yolk

Wednesday, Apr 23, 2025

When a 100-pound chocolate egg makes headlines, we don’t just get a sugar rush—we get an engineering high, too.

We’re talking about the world’s largest Cadbury Crème Egg, unveiled just in time for Easter: a towering, hand-crafted marvel made entirely of the brand’s signature Dairy Milk chocolate. Standing over three feet tall—roughly the height of an Emperor penguin—and weighing as much as a newborn foal, this baby’s cracked the code in confectionary construction.

It took Cadbury’s chocolatiers three days to whip up this showstopper: The egg was built in two massive halves using a custom mold. Before a single ounce of chocolate was poured, artisans hand-detailed the mold with Cadbury’s iconic purple, red, and gold wrapper design, making the foil literally baked in. Every detail was temperature-controlled, pressure-tested, and carefully crafted to prevent cracking under stress.

And while the whole thing is technically edible, no one’s taking a bite—this chocolate champion is on display at Cadbury World’s Chocolate Making Zone in Birmingham, England, through April 27.

Just like a true shell-ebrity.
