The new EMD Series is a hybrid of our long-time Maxi-Duty Series and our new Ultra Maxi-Duty Series. The new series incorporate the smaller mounting plate of the Maxi-Duty with the massive swivel construction of the UMD Series. The result is a less costly caster than the UMD yet with ample bulk to handle loads up to 40,000 lbs. The dual forged steel wheels are machined with a slight crown to enhance rollability and swiveling.
The enhanced Enhanced Maxi-Duty Wheel Series now features Hamilton’s Precision Integrated HPI™ Swivel Technology. This new technology outperforms conventional CNC-machined ball raceways, kingpinless, and unit load bearing swivel constructions. The new design improves the bearing’s element of contact and more than doubles the number of contact points. The new HPI™ raceways are also 45% harder than conventional hardened raceways and the surface finish is an incredibly smooth 16 micro inches.
