Will America’s new tallest skyscraper rise against the odds?

Wednesday, Feb 28, 2024

Even we at Hamilton are known for making the biggest casters on the planet, we’re always proud to keep it real in our hometown of Hamilton, Ohio. So you can bet we’re rooting for this unlikely project planned by California architecture studioAO to build the country’s tallest skyscraperin the middle of America’s heartland: Oklahoma City.

If erected, the 134-story skyscraper will surpass the height of the current tallest building in the country, New York’s One World Trade Center. Known as “The Boardwalk at Bricktown,” it’s envisioned to be a mixed-use development featuring commercial, residential and retail space, including two Hyatt hotels, as well as state-of-the-art green spaces and energy-efficient systems. According to the developers, Oklahoma City is experiencing huge growth and transformation, making it well suited to support such a large-scale project. They envision it to be an iconic landmark that will transform the city skyline and attract attention on a national scale. Of course, some haters are questioning the need for such a towering structure in a city known more for its plains than skyscrapers.

But to that, we say, go big or go home.
