Polyurethane Wheels

Polyurethane wheels-the protective wheel that wears like steel-is Hamilton's highest quality urethane, liquid cast to a thickness of approximately 1/2" and chemically bonded onto heavy-duty iron wheel centers. The distinctive green treads are chemically inert, non-sparking, non-conductive, impervious to oil, ozone, grease and most solvents, and will not mark floors. Polyurethane wheels are also guaranteed against tread separation for one year in ordinary free-wheeling applications (contact factory for excepted applications). They are available without bearings, with straight roller bearings, or with precision tapered bearings as listed below. All sizes except the 3 " and 4" diameter include ball-check lubrication fittings in the hub.

Duralast Polyurethane Wheel

Duralast® XC Wheels Series D70 — Cap. to 7,800 lbs.

Are you looking for improved rollability and extra capacity in a resilient tread wheel? If so, Hamilton's 70 durometer polyurethane (Shore D) wheels will deliver. Because the polyurethane is harder than standard 95A poly, these wheels roll more easily and carry up to 30% more capacity - thus the suffix XC, as in eXtra Capacity! In addition, they effectively repel foreign objects and debris. Duralast XC's harder tread is best suited for smooth floors. For rough floors, we recommend our Ergo-Glide™ Wheels.

Duralast XC® wheels have precision ball bearings in all sizes from 4" x 2" to 12" x 3". In towing applications, Hamilton recommends precision tapered bearings which are available in all 3" wide models. These wheels can also be mounted in the popular Workhorse, Heavy Service, Champion, and kingpinless Endurance series.

DuraGlide Wheels Wheels Series G95 & GS95 — Cap. to 25,000 lbs.

For extra heavy loads requiring excellent rollability, higher speeds, and/or outdoor use, Hamilton’s new DuraGlide and Super DuraGlide are an excellent choice. 1”- 3” thick 95A tread offerings of dynamically responsive polyurethane that rolls up to 40% easier than most other poly wheels. Engineers also formulated DuraGlide to run much cooler than most polyurethanes resulting in an excellent wheel for higher speed applications. DuraGlide is also essentially impervious to moisture and our top poly performer in moist or outdoor applications. DuraGlide’s thicker tread also reduces heat stress on the bond line. And because there’s more polyurethane to compress, the psi pressure is lower and therefore the urethane endures less stress fatigue for longer life. DuraGlide is medium gray poly molded to heavy duty black cast iron or forged steel centers.

Ergo-glide™ Wheels Series SP — Cap. to 2,800 lbs.

Hamilton Caster proudly introduces a new softer polyurethane tread wheel—Ergo-glide™ — formulated for a quieter operation and greater resistance to foreign objects and debris (F.O.D.). As the name implies, Ergo-glide™ wheel tread hardness measures 82-85D (Shore A scale) vs. the harder Duralast® 90-95D (Shore A). The newly formulated polyurethane wheel has found popularity among automotive plants and those customers wanting to lower factory noise levels, and improve floor protection.

Ergo Glide Polyurethane Wheel

Ergo-Glide XT Wheels Series — Cap. to 3,800 lbs.

The new Ergo-Glide XT is your best choice among polyurethane wheels for extra heavy loads in environments where cushioning, quiet operation, and/or debris rejection are top priorities. The Ergo-Glide XT is essentially the “big brother” of our popular Ergo-Glide wheels and both are the top poly performers in repelling foreign objects and debris. Factory personnel will also benefit from this wheel’s quiet ride to reduce noise. The ‘XT’ stands for “Extra Thick” or 1” thick of our quietest rolling polyurethane. The 1” thick tread boasts a higher load capacity than the majority of our polyurethane wheel offerings. The slightly softer 82A urethane combined with the 1” thick tread also allow the wheel to roll over obstacles more easily as the tread will tend to conform to the obstacle rather than roll up and over it. In slow to moderate speeds the ErgoGlide XT’s thicker tread reduces heat stress on the bond line. And because there’s more polyurethane to compress, the psi pressure is lower and therefore the urethane endures less stress fatigue for longer life.

Ergo-Tech Wheels Series AY — Cap. to 1,700 lbs.

Hamilton’s Erg-Tech wheels, polyurethane on aluminum, come in two breeds. The new 622 and 822 models are the latest polyurethane wheels made popular by automotive manufacturers across the country. The unique half-round or donut-type tread is combined with maintenance-free precision ball bearings to provide effortless rolling. A generous amount of polyurethane is bonded both mechanically and chemically to a large fin that extends from the center of the core providing excellent performance in the most demanding of applications. Engineers then specified a softer polyurethane with a durometer of 80 (Shore A) to ensure greater traction and to run quieter than traditional urethanes.
