Four massive 12-inch Duralast wheels. A 7,000-pound load capacity per caster. And enough industrial-strength attitude to make a bulldozer feel underdressed.

Meet two of the latest additions to Hamilton's custom Maxi-Duty lineup: the XC0721 swivel caster and XC0722 rigid caster. Both pack serious muscle, with some crafty engineering hiding beneath all that brawn.

The ask? Fitting our 12" x 3" Duralast wheels into a Maxi-Duty Dual Wheel rig typically designed for larger 1¼-inch ball bearings. Our engineers reworked the rig to accommodate one-inch precision ball bearings and a matching axle. While they were at it, they integrated a heavy-duty dual-wheel tread contact brake directly into the caster leg, eliminating the need for a separate welded-on bracket.

The result? A cleaner, purpose-built design with stopping power to match its hauling power.

Of course, hauling a massive load is one thing. Maneuvering it is another. Enter our patented Hamilton Precision Integrated (HPI™) swivel technology. By more than doubling the contact points within the raceway, HPI delivers exceptional strength and smoother swiveling under punishing loads. And with raceways 45% harder than conventional CNC-machined designs, these giants are built for the long haul.

But the story doesn’t end there. The real world handed our engineering team one more assignment when one of the early casters was towed while its brake was still engaged. The brake held so firmly that the towing force bent part of the assembly.

Throw in a lifetime-guaranteed kingpin and a four-position swivel lock to keep things pointed in the right direction, and you've got a heavyweight with some impressive moves. Its rigid counterpart brings dependable directional stability to the party, rounding out a formidable duo built for the toughest jobs.

Because even the biggest heavyweights need be light on their feet.
