Hamilton Caster Introduces New Forged Steel Caster High Quality Caster Matches Popular Industry Standard...Hamilton, Ohio, August 15, 1997: The Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co., celebrating its 90th Anniversary in 1997, has just introduced a brand new heavy-duty caster series - The Champion. It is rated for capacities up to 3,500 lbs. each and matches a popular industry standard top plate size (5 1/4" x 7 1/4") and bolt hole pattern (3 3/8" x 5 1/4" slotted to 4 1/8" x 6 1/8".)
The Champion swivel caster construction embraces Hamilton's proven design and features a rugged drop forged steel top plate and horn base, legs made of 3/8" plate steel welded both inside and outside to the horn base, and a 1" diameter integrally forged steel kingpin that won't bend or break in rigorous use. And, the kingpin carries the company's lifetime guarantee. To assure smooth swiveling under heavy loads, the Champion features two premium swivel bearing surfaces-a 3 3/4" diameter CNC-machined main load raceway and a precision tapered secondary load bearing to counteract radial thrust.
The Champion is available with a variety of wheel choices ranging in sizes from 6" x 2 1/2" to 12" x 3". Wheels may be equipped with either 1" hardened-and-ground straight roller bearings or precision tapered roller bearings. All swivel and rigid casters equipped with straight roller bearings are stocked at the factory as part of the manufacturer's 1-2 day quick-ship PRONTO® Service.
A variety of optional accessories includes Hamilton's patented InsTOEmatic wheel brake, a four-position swivel lock, and wheel bearing seals.
